How it all began... In September 2004, four enthusiastic graduates of the National Respiratory Training Center's (NRTC) asthma and COPD courses met in Gastonia to explore ways to positively impact the care of patients with respiratory disease in North Carolina. Founding members Pam Ellwood, Rita Heath, Kelly Crowder, and Allison Cline shared their ideas with a larger group of NRTC graduates who supported their vision. Soon thereafter, a board of directors was formed and in 2003 the North Carolina Alliance of Respiratory Educators (NCARE) was born.
"The North Carolina Alliance of Respiratory Educators truly demonstrates how education can empower and motivate health professionals to make a difference in patient care. We are inspired by our graduates and their dedication to professional growth and leadership in the community." Monica Fletcher, Chief Executive of the NRTC, encourages graduates to join this exciting organization, continue their professional growth, and enjoy the camaraderie of the NRTC family.
